REVISION NARRATIVE: Elizabeth Shaw Melville inscribed in pencil these instructions for a personal binding of the unbound set of "sheets" of Battle-Pieces sent by publisher Harper and Brothers. At some point the penciling was erased but not so deeply as to prevent recovery of the text.
New Fly leaves may be put on here - and two added at the end - Muslin or Buckram binding - Edges to be trimmed
